Second Activity
Hold an SSFV whole group Spring meeting on April 17th to review the progress of each group's 2022-23 goals and plan the work for next year.
• Group 1: Genre/Form: create LCGFT mappings for LCSH literary headings (retrospective implementation module)
o Progress:
 Harvested genre/form terms from id.loc.gov;
 In the process of figuring out the mapping from LCSH to LCGFT (develop the method to follow)

• Group 2: Demographic/Geographic: create/refine mappings of LCSH headings to 370/385/386 fields (retrospective implementation module) (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uIGd7drnkw3QEvW9pBYoUp03KN3xY7G2TEDqE2fizn0/edit#gid=0)
o Progress:
 Finalized the format of our mapping of demographic qualifiers to demographic and geographic terms (including “additional review” flagging when needed), and added explanatory text in preparation for sharing the mapping with other SSFV members and outside reviewers :
 Did an initial review of how the mapping could and could not be used for automatic addition of demographic and/or geographic headings to records based on the presence of LCSH terms.

• Group 3: Genre/Form: prepare and submit LCGFT proposals for gaps in the LCSH subdivision mappings

o Progress: updated on Recent Submitted/Approved LCGFT

• Group 4: Genre/Form: test and refine LCSH subdivision mappings with OCLC and other interested parties (retrospective implementation)

Evaluated feedback from SSFV members to proposed changes on LCSHFormSubdListBySubdivision WORKSPACE
 Began planning process for "fast track" changes and regular changes (guidelines upcoming)
 Working with OCLC contact to start phase 2 of mapping tests

1. Review on "Best Practices for Recording Faceted Chronological Data in Bibliographic Records" 046 field session.
2. Test the retrospective modules with OCLC staff.
