Recent Activities

First Activity
Planned for the launch of Leadership & Mentoring Program, including workbreak down, timeline, sub committees for different phases, recruitment and matching of mentors/mentees, program kick off and periodic assesssment.
Meets Core’s strategic goals for Career Building and Recognition

Second Activity
Planning for Leadership 'Institute' expansion of the leadership and mentoring program to build develop a multiday leadership institute with a variety of speakers and builds upon the updated/revised leadership competencies by form LLAMA members.

Based on Core Conference proposals, building a leadership pre-conference workshops

Developing a leadership institute for launch in FY 2024-5

Is there anything Core could have provided during this time that would have helped your group with its work?
Jenny's (and the rotating ALA staffing) have been great, no complaints there. I think the one thing that stands out, is my favorite quote du jour – 'design thrives in specificity'. We've received unclear/mixed messages about what Core has wanted with regard to a leadership institute/program. We're at a good point now, but greater clarity/boundaries/scoping for future pipeline projects would help volunteers not feel like they're wasting their time working on something, only to be told, well not like that because xyz…
