First Activity
Please summarize work accomplished, decisions made, and follow-up actions determined during the past 6 months. Your summary can be a narrative or bullet points, see below for reporting on specific areas.

We’ve been quite busy:

  1. facilitating the ALA program changes in our section, which resulted in three actions: 1) the sunsetting of a committee; 2) the sunsetting of an interest group; 3) investigation in order to improve understanding of one committee (the ACRL/Core Interdivisional Academic Library Facilities Survey Editorial Board). Traci then met with ACRL leadership of the committee to clarify the charge and committee makeup. There are ongoing efforts to identify Core leadership to complement.
  2. met with the chairs twice, in our supporting role to their work.
  3. fielded several miscellaneous questions from current committee members and prospective members.
  4. reviewed and voted on Core Forum 2026 proposals for the building track.
  5. attended monthly section leads meetings and disseminated information.
  6. updated the Core B&O Handbook.
  7. reviewed B&O website information for Core staff and provided edits/feedback.
  8. met bi-weekly as a leadership team to facilitate this work.

Ongoing Work (Fill in bullet point and progress made)

We are still working to identify a co-chair for the ACRL/Core Interdivisional Academic Library Facilities Survey Editorial Board, and then to help them line up 2 members, ideally before the Annual meeting. We have reached out to 3 individuals; two declined and one was not responsive.

We are waiting on Core staff input into the questions posted to them about the B&O handbook, and can then finalize the updates and re-publish to committees, ideally right after Annual for the new chairs and committee members.

Fourth Activity
What will your team be working on for the next 6 months? Write these goals in SMART goal format. Identify a co-chair for the ACRL/Core Interdivisional Academic Library Facilities Survey Editorial Board prior to Annual, and then to help them line up 2 B&O members to serve on the 2026-2027 board.

Solicit Core staff input on the questions posted to them about the B&O handbook and then finalize the updates and re-publish to committee chairs after Annual.

Fifth Activity
How did your work contribute to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, or belonging within Core or the library profession? What areas of improvement do you see for your committee or Core in these areas? many of the programs organized and delivered by our chairs touch on DEIA tenets in the built environment.
Is there anything Core could have provided during this time that would have helped your team with its work?
Please provide suggestions for future education topics, initiatives, publications, resources, or other activities that could be developed based on your section’s work.
Please describe anything you need to bring to the Core Board for discussion or action at their next meeting.
