The journal seeks to provide an avenue for a wide variety of perspectives. We have been working to with authors to help develop articles so voices who might not normally be published get the opportunity to share. Additionally, we hope to review our website to ensure it is inclusive and encourages diverse authors and perspectives. |

Committee Work
Summary of work accomplished, decisions made, and follow-up actions determined during the past 6 months
The editorial board has continued to support the work of the editor and assistant editor of Library Leadership and Management. The board set goals to:
- Create peer reviewer training process and put out a call for new reviewers
- Form an EDI subgroup to review journal processes, author recruitment, website language, etc.
- Conduct survey and/or focus groups to get feedback from readers.
- 2024 special issue on middle management and/or focus on management of a specific function or area
Progress on Deliverables
Publish LL&M – last two issues of this volume in progress
Progress on Ongoing Work
Maintain a roster of peer reviewers – plan to send call for proposal in January
Recruit authors and readers – planning special issue for end of 2024

- Update charge to the new format.
- Recruit and train new reviewers.

How did your work contribute to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, or belonging within Core or the library profession? What areas of improvement do you see for your committee or Core in these areas?
The journal and the editorial board have intentionally focused on publishing articles that represent a variety of viewpoints from different types of areas, different levels of leadership, and different regions of the world. Going forward we plan to evaluate our website, review process, and publication more thoroughly with an eye towards DEI to ensure we are as inclusive as possible.

Recent Activities
First Activity
The editors and assistant editors of the Core journals have continued meeting to work on streamlining processes and working towards the migration to a single platform this summer.
Meets Core’s strategic goals for Evaluate and Adjust Core’s Structure
Second Activity
The editorial board has developed ideas to reach more authors. The board created a special issue of LL&M and chose a theme of "organizational structures." The special issue will be published at the end of this year and the board plans to continue efforts to grow authors and readers.

What will your group be working on for the next 6 months?
In the next six months we will be migrating the journal from TDL to ALA Production Services. We also plan on implementing peer-reviewer training and integrating EDI considerations into the review and publication process.

The group met 4-6 times this quarter.
Recent Activities
First Activity
The editors and assistant editors of the Core journals have been meeting to work on streamlining processes as well as on a proposal to host all three journals on a single platform. That proposal was submitted in December.

Second Activity
The LL&M editorial board was formed in July. The last six months have been spent reviewing journal policies and brainstorming ways to provide more authors with the opportunity to share their expertise.
The submission and review process has been reviewed/updated, and beginning in the next volume we'll be adding a column focused on the voices of library leaders.

What will your group be working on for the next 6 months?
Over the next six months we'll continue working with the other Core journals to align our processes, and look for more ways to encourage library leaders and managers to share their expertise and experience in LL&M.
If the Core board approves the proposal to migrate to a single platform, the editorial board may also need to spend some time testing and working through migration details.
